everyone smiles at you and treats you nicely. While it is fun to debate different terms fof candid photography at the end of the day it those moments that are captured that is going to spread the word about your business. Not routine moments either but rather moments that capture the personality of the couple. I would recommend using the term moments photography.

To me this comes down to moments. Having gone through my wedding day it is fast paced day where<br

But most people use reportage for this style so I'm not going to confuse matters! Certainly not in literature. Once I've met with them I explain that a lot of it is true candid but there is still quite a lot that is "prompted", that way you can guarantee getting good shots. At the end of the day they still look very informal and natural which is what counts.

When I actually meet people I tend to use the term “informal portraits” as TRUE reportage means not engaging, interacting or influencing the proceedings in any way. She was saying she thinks she can save money by not getting a professional photographer. I can't allow what should be the memories of the happiest day of her life be ruined by a photography student with a cheap camera and no experience. Always pay the extra for a true professional and your photos will always look fantastic.

This is so true. I think that it is dead and should be left in the fifties. I would hope that the wedding photography service I provide is looked upon as a modern style with a good mix of semi formal and un posed candid photography. When I have been asking couple what they would like, they seem to be talking about what they think is the 'style' of today but to be honest I don't think they know really what they want and they are trying to talk as if they know what they are talking about - when in fact they don't.
I also think that too many people are claiming to be reportage photographers when they are posing almost every shot. just because they turn it black and white, they suddenly think it is candid. It makes me laugh.

I totally agree with you about the traditional photography style. I think that it is dead and should be left in the fifties.
