Looks like the whole country has come to a stop with all of this snow!
That’s really blown out any work for me today as the schools are off and have to share looking after the kids.
Managed to get a run in though. I do quite a lot of running, mainly marathon and ultra-marathon (anything over 30 mile) races, all of which are off road. So with such distances I need to keep my fitness up, you can’t just turn up to a 50 mile race with no training. We have quite a few forests where we live, Bramshill and Swinley being my favourites. So fancied a run at Bramshill but there was no way I was going to venture out in the car, so decided to run there and back instead.
The snow makes everything surreal and at one point I thought I’d gone through a magic wardrobe and ended up in Narnia. The run took 2 hours and was pretty hard going as you are either breaking trail or slipping and sliding in someone elses tracks. Really glad I went out though, apart from the hot shower afterwards, cold hands and feet do not mix with hot water – Oucchh!!

That is a beautiful shot of the woods. Kind of reminds me of the poem “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening.” And I can’t even imagine running in that. Do you use those modified snowshoes to run in it?
We don’t really get that much snow usually so snow shoes would be used about once every 5-10 years!
I run in these
Great in most conditions – even knee deep snow!
THat is the hardest thing ever!
