Newborn Baby photography
Newborn baby photography is great fun but can be very challenging. For the first few weeks or even months they are not that expressive so getting good photos can be difficult. They also spend a lot of time sleeping which doesn’t help!
For my baby photography sessions I always allocate plenty of time, at least an hour, as it can be quite on and off. Having to take cuddle and feed breaks quite often, thats the babies not me if you were wondering.
New parents Lisa and Craig came into my studio recently with 4 week old Olivia. We got some great images and I was really surprised when the said how young she was as she had great eye contact and expressions. maybe a Supermodel for the future?!?
Below is a slide show of some of the shots, check out the last slide as well as they bought a lovely multi image montage which is a great way to get a variety of shots but still look classically simple.

I have a 9 week old baby and I can relate to these pictures. They are very good and we all know how difficult it is to take pictures of newborns.
These all are great shots of oliva. I liked the 8th one most. You have captured various expression quite dexterously. Thank you for sharing.

Very well done.I like the use of a dark background to put the focus on the child. You didn’t mention very much on technique. Did you use a flash? If so, how did you keep the baby from being startled.
wow… 4 week old baby and she already knew how to post in the camera… I like the 7th picture when she had her cute laugh…

Love you baby, its very cute to see only 4 weeks old baby in front of camera with smiling face and different posses. I know how much difficult to take pics of a newborn baby that’s why these are simply great.
