Maternity Photo Session

Baby photographer

I found a really nice post on Julie Silvers blog about having a maternity photography session or “bump” session.

We had both of our children photographed at this stage, and really glad we did. After all it is you first family portrait!

Most women feel very self concious about there body’s at this point so it can be a very difficult thing to decide to do. Also its not for everybody so you have to feel very comfortable doing it.

Julie gives a great overview of why she did it and how the photo session went, well worth a read if you are not too sure whteher to get one done. I always advise to go ahead as once they are out they are not going back in!

I didn’t take their pictures as they are not in the same country, but there photographer did a great job. Some examples of my maternity photography can be found here.

I did my wife’s “bump” pictures with our first child. She wouldn’t let me do them with our second and I really regret it.

I don’t think I would ever get one, but the maternity ‘bump’ photos that friends have on their walls are beautiful photos.
